Using CDDB in AudioCD MP3 Studio 2000

AudioCD MP3 Studio 2000 includes free access to an online CDDB server from which you can download the CDDB data for your audio CDs.

To access the database insert an audio CD from a record shop into your source drive and click on the Read CD icon in the toolbar or select Read CD in the CD menu (see Reading Tracks from Audio CDs for full details on this function). The Read CD dialog will be displayed, showing the list of track numbers found on the CD and their playing times.

Next click on the Get CDDB Entry button. If you are not already online you will be prompted to connect to the Internet. If your computer is configured for automatic dialing it may go online automatically (please see your communications hardware and software documentation for information on setting up your Internet connection if necessary).

Although this service is free of charge, the operators do require that you register the first time you use it. Just fill out the information in the online form shown below and click on OK to register. The next time you use the service you will be able to access the database immediately.

When you click on OK the system will access the CDDB 2 database and look for the entry for the CD in your source drive. If it is found the title and artist information will automatically be downloaded and will appear in the track list in the Read CD window. You can then go offline and extract the tracks from the CD. The title and artist information will automatically be saved with the output wave files, and will appear in your playlists when you load them.

Important Note

Please remember that CDDB 2 is still very new. It is possible that you may occasionally experience minor problems with this version of the CDDB module and/or the database itself. We will be releasing an upgraded version on our website as soon as an update becomes available from the CDDB operators.
